- My dad's got this problem you see; he's got an Amiga 600 and
- a voice capable modem. The modem uses Rockwell ADPCM2
- compression. This standard requires a constant DTE of 19200,
- which I thought was easily achieved on an A600.
-
- Anyway, he's trying to use AVM voicemail software and that
- requires MUI. Now, my theory is MUI is processor intensive
- because no matter how hard I try, I always get jumpy kind of
- playback. I have tried all of the following:
-
- + killed all background tasks (virus checkers etc).
- + 2 colour screen.
- + Blanker commodity.
- + alternative serial devices (8n1, artser etc).
-
- ...and playback is still no good. He's also replaced the
- modem "just in case".
-
- Now, I want to slow MUI down - seriously! :-) I want to
- give more processor time to the serial port. How can I do
- this?
-
- Please, do not say "upgrade", he can not afford it.
-
- Thanks in advance.
